Projects
Projects our office has worked on.
The Law Office “Rakipi & Partners” took part in a project of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, drafting a review and analysis of the criminal policies that counter the illicit trade and trafficking of weapons and ammunition, examining and analysing firearms and explosives offences, and identifying the need to align Albanian legislation with the relevant international policies and instruments.
The Law Office “Rakipi & Partners”, together with Kazazi Consulting, took part in the project “Research on the illicit tobacco trade in Albania and neighbouring countries”, analysing the links between tax policy, criminal legislation against illicit trade and state policy, in monitoring the processing and trade of raw tobacco as well as the illicit tobacco trade and corruption.
With the support of the Open Society Foundation for Albania, Romina Zano took part in the research and drafting of the project “The insurance market: protecting the consumer-victim in the operation of the Compensation Fund”, which addressed the legal, regulatory, supervisory and practical problems of the fund in the Albanian insurance market. The project served as a strong counter-argument preventing the adoption of bills that would have harmed the rights and freedoms of parties losing entitlements under the Compensation Fund.
